Wedding of Fox News Correspondent and Congressman in NYC

Jackie Heinrich, a senior White House correspondent for Fox News, tied the knot with Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick in a glamorous ceremony in New York City on Saturday. The wedding beautifully combined family traditions, political significance, and respect for their shared backgrounds.

The couple, aged 37 and 52 respectively, exchanged vows during a Catholic Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Following the ceremony, they celebrated with over 300 guests aboard a yacht cruising through New York Harbor.

Cardinal Timothy Dolan officiated the wedding, emphasizing the couple’s wish to honor the familial and cultural traditions that have influenced their lives.

“Above all, we wanted a day that reflected the people and traditions that have shaped our lives,” the couple shared with a publication.

New York holds special significance for Heinrich and Fitzpatrick. It was the city where Heinrich began her career as a network news reporter, and where Fitzpatrick was assigned as an FBI agent. Their family histories also intertwine with the city, as both have roots tracing back to immigrants who arrived generations ago.

Fitzpatrick’s family hails from New York, with his parents having immigrated from Ireland through Ellis Island. Meanwhile, Heinrich’s great-grandparents found their way to the city from Hungary.

The reception took place on the Horizon’s Edge Yacht, a nod to Heinrich’s parents, who had also celebrated their marriage aboard a cruise ship. Additionally, the couple chose an Irish song penned by Fitzpatrick’s great-uncle for the cutting of their wedding cake.

The guestlist included 302 attendees, featuring family, friends, and notable politicians. Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and former Senator Joe Manchin delivered toasts at the reception, which offered a menu including Atlantic salmon, French-cut chicken breast, or black Angus short ribs.

Entertainment for the evening included a 10-piece brass band while the yacht cruised past iconic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty.

Heinrich donned a custom dress designed by Galia Lahav, which transformed throughout the night. The initial dress featured a corseted mermaid silhouette with a lace high-neck bolero and a cathedral-length veil. As the festivities unfolded, she removed parts of her attire for a more streamlined look, culminating in a strapless sweetheart dress.

The bride walked down the aisle to Jeremiah Clark’s “Trumpet Voluntary in D Major,” and they exchanged traditional vows. The reception was infused with a “Sinatra-era Americana” vibe, with their first dance to Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”

The cake was a three-tiered red velvet confection adorned with buttercream decorations.

This wedding marked a new chapter in a relationship that began on Capitol Hill, where they first met. Heinrich was covering Congress while Fitzpatrick was serving as a member of the House of Representatives. After Heinrich transitioned to covering the White House, Fitzpatrick invited her to the Kennedy Center Honors, which sparked the beginning of their romantic journey.

Heinrich fondly recalled Fitzpatrick’s determination to win her over, mentioning, “He started a charming campaign of progressively more thoughtful dates to win me over, and it worked.” Despite his claims of not falling in love for the first time, Heinrich chuckled about his efforts.

The couple announced their engagement last year following a proposal during a trip to Provence, France.

Now married, they find their commitment to their demanding careers has strengthened their relationship. “We both work in fields that can be all-consuming, and it takes a certain type of person to understand that level of commitment,” they noted, adding they admire each other’s dedication to their roles.

Looking ahead, the newlyweds are excited about the prospect of starting a family. They’re also faced with the practicalities of merging their households, currently situated in different states.

As for their honeymoon, they have plans to travel to the south of France in the summer of 2027—a trip that was postponed due to parliamentary obligations.
