President Trump Comments on Missing Nancy Guthrie

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump expressed his hope that investigators would locate Nancy Guthrie, the missing mother of “Today” co-host Savannah Guthrie. This high-profile case has captured national attention nearly five months following her disappearance.

While speaking with reporters at Reading Regional Airport in Pennsylvania, Trump was asked about the ongoing efforts of the FBI and other investigators to find Nancy Guthrie. He simply stated, “I hope they find her. That family went through hell.”

These remarks followed Savannah Guthrie’s emotional appeal for public help, as the search for the 84-year-old Arizona woman reached its 20th week.

During an episode of the “Today” show, Savannah urged anyone with information regarding her mother’s case to step forward. “Someone knows something,” she emphasized, adding, “We are suffering.”

This appeal came after unsettling reports of a second ransom note that purportedly claimed Nancy had died shortly after her abduction from her home in the Catalina Foothills, located north of Tucson.

A federal law enforcement official familiar with the investigation informed that the ransom notes implied Nancy might have been “naturally buried.” Interestingly, this communication expressed remorse rather than making a typical payment demand, which experts find unusual in cases of genuine ransom.

So far, authorities have not confirmed the notes’ authenticity nor identified the sender. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos noted that investigators and the FBI have examined various ransom communications throughout this case, some turning out to be fraudulent, while others could be credible.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing from her Tucson-area home in early February. The FBI and local law enforcement agencies are actively investigating the matter. Savannah has committed to ensuring that her family will seek answers relentlessly. “We love you mom,” she stated, “We’ll never stop looking for her, never.”
