Trump Administration Reports Major Immigration Enforcement Success

On Wednesday, the Trump administration announced a significant milestone in immigration enforcement, revealing that federal authorities have arrested over 10,000 gang suspects since the beginning of President Donald Trump’s second term.

These arrests are part of a larger effort aimed at curtailing immigration and removing violent offenders from American communities. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) noted that those apprehended face severe charges, including murder, assault with a deadly weapon, drug trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, robbery, and extortion.

Mark Wayne Mullin, Secretary of Homeland Security, stated that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has fulfilled the administration’s objective of enhancing safety in domestic communities.

Mullin emphasized, “Under President Trump’s leadership, ICE has arrested more than 10,000 gang members.” He added that many of these individuals had been let into the country during Joe Biden’s administration, alleging they committed various violent crimes against innocent Americans.

The DHS disclosed that the individual identified as the 10,000th suspect is Javier Hernández Rosas, believed to be a member of the MS-13 gang and an illegal immigrant from Mexico. His criminal history includes a conviction for cocaine possession and previous arrests for offenses like kidnapping and weapons possession.

As the administration focuses on immigration issues, it also announced that Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has reached record staffing levels, now employing 21,471 personnel, the highest in the agency’s 102-year history. Officials report that illegal immigration has decreased significantly, falling by over 87% since October 2024.
