Ashley Perez, the former wife of golfer Pat Perez, recently reflected on the public backing she received back in 2015 when Phil Mickelson, a three-time Masters winner, reportedly made inappropriate advances toward her.
On her Instagram Story, Ashley posted a photo of herself in a stunning jumpsuit from Las Vegas, writing, “I stand up and stand next to the millions of women who have been silenced to protect the evil and darkness within us.” She expressed gratitude for the support she received, stating, “Thank you so much for all the love and support. Our hearts go out to the countless other victims.”
Ashley, who filed for divorce from Pat in November 2023, didn’t mention anyone specifically in her comments. Following a report from Skratch, she claimed that during a stay at Pat’s vacation home for the PGA Tour’s Barclays Tournament in New Jersey, Mickelson allegedly showed her naked pictures of herself.
According to the report, while Pat was in the bathroom, Mickelson purportedly displayed a full-length photo of himself flexing and, well, showing more. They were all drinking wine together on the patio at the time.
Ashley also stated that Mickelson suggested keeping the bedroom door open, implying he wanted to see her after Pat fell asleep. Not surprisingly, she rejected that idea and discussed Mickelson’s behavior with Pat afterward.
The report highlighted that Mickelson, who has been married to Amy for three decades, apologized to Pat multiple times for his conduct, including during a lengthy phone call where he reportedly expressed regret but claimed he couldn’t recall the specifics of that night.
In that phone call, he conveyed his disgust over the situation, stating he was “disgusted and embarrassed.” This came after Pat had made comments in a November 2022 podcast expressing his disdain for Mickelson.
Mickelson’s attorney described the coverage as “reckless,” arguing that it was inappropriate to treat his private life as public interest simply because of his celebrity status. The attorney asserted that recycling previously acknowledged mistakes just to get attention was irresponsible.
The attorney also claimed that a statement was submitted prior but was not included in the report. A spokesperson for Mickelson added that while some allegations are false, others refer back to past mistakes he’s admitted to. They argued that combining disputed accusations with accepted ones distorts the truth.
The spokesperson emphasized that no single article could encapsulate Mickelson’s personal journey, which includes ups and downs, and highlighted the support he has received from his wife throughout their relationship.
Prior to all this, Mickelson had taken time away from professional golf since February for family matters. Earlier this year, he faced allegations of unwanted physical contact with a female employee at a golf club.
As for Pat Perez, he transitioned into a broadcasting role with LIV Golf TV in 2025 after a few seasons with the 4Aces GC team led by Dustin Johnson.
