New Christian Children’s Book Highlights America’s Independence Day

Steve Deace, a host on Blaze TV, recently released a new book titled “Why Independence Day? America is great because God is good.” This book, aimed at children, offers a religious perspective on American history, particularly relating to the Fourth of July and its significance.

The narrative starts from biblical themes, discussing God’s covenant with the Israelites, the arrival of Jesus, and the spread of Christianity. It then transitions to how early Christians, including the Puritans, sought a society free from monarchical rule over worship. Following this, the story dives into the growing discontent among American colonists towards British rule, touching on key moments like the Boston Tea Party and the gatherings of the Founding Fathers in Philadelphia.

A key moment captured in the book is the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, portrayed as a significant act of aligning with divine authority. This narrative includes details about the Revolutionary War, the concept of Divine Providence, and highlights the victory at Yorktown along with the establishment of the U.S. Constitution. The story finishes on an uplifting note, referring to America as a “shining city on a hill”, while also mentioning John Adams’ vision of celebrating Independence Day with prayer and illumination.

The book has gained traction quickly, securing the position of #1 new release in the Christian children’s book category on Amazon, and finding a spot in the top 15 new releases among all children’s literature.

In a recent episode of “The Steve Deace Show,” Deace read the book live, explaining that these readings provide a chance for parents to gauge the content and see if it resonates with their family values.
