Generational Crisis in America
The United States faces a significant generational challenge. Generation Z, characterized by skepticism and disillusionment, is nearing a pivotal moment where they’ll determine if the American experiment is worth preserving or if it should be discarded entirely.
On a recent episode of “The Steve Deace Show,” host Steve Deace addressed questions from a 23-year-old named Ben. The key inquiry was, “What happens when the older generation is gone and Gen Z steps into leadership?”
His answer resonated deeply and, frankly, might be unsettling for many.
“Consider what the American left is aiming to do to our society and how apparent their intentions have become,” Deace stated starkly. “If we let down our people to such an extent that an entire generation disengages from our cause, we can’t be surprised by the consequences. It’s tragic, but it’s the truth.”
Yet, he maintains a sense of calm, grounded in his beliefs.
“The Lord gives and takes away. Blessed be His name. Every generation and nation will one day leave its mark in history,” Deace expressed.
“I’m trying to be candid here, but solutions are not simple. If this ultimately leads to your generation stepping back due to persistent deception and the left claiming victory, that’s unfortunate. But, can we really deem that unfair?” he pondered.
Co-host Todd Azen added a thought, mentioning it feels natural for some. Yet, despite feelings of betrayal and manipulation, Deace believes that supporting Trump and the MAGA movement, regardless of its imperfections, is currently the most viable path.
“Understand where we’re coming from and decide for yourself if it resonates with you,” he advised Ben and others from Gen Z.
He noted a number of young men are still single and childless, so future implications may not be top of mind.
“I’m aware of the challenges and the manipulation,” he acknowledged. “And it’s not that I think Trump is delicately navigating these times.”
Deace feels there’s no other viable opposition for him. “I can’t join any other movement. The only meaningful challenge against the cultural tide threatening my lifestyle and that of future generations is through Trump and his approach.”
As people age, they often realize how swiftly time passes. Becoming a parent or grandparent significantly shifts one’s perspective.
“The time I have left to achieve my goals is shrinking. I can’t just leave the next generation to address my shortcomings and what I failed to advocate for,” he confessed.
“There isn’t another cause I can enlist in. The only significant counterforce in this current struggle in America is Trump and his legacy.”
