Salute to America Celebration Set to Resume
President Trump has directed that the Salute to America event on the National Mall will continue at 9:45 p.m. ET, after being paused earlier due to weather conditions. A significant presidential speech to mark America’s 250th anniversary is scheduled for 11 p.m. ET.
Daniel Alvarez, a spokesperson for Freedom 250, confirmed that the gates would reopen, as per the president’s instructions, and that the speech would go ahead as planned.
“It’s time to celebrate, America!”
In a note from President Trump, he stated that the National Mall’s entrances would reopen at 9:45 p.m. The evening will feature a presidential address at 11 p.m. followed by an impressive fireworks show.
The message emphasized that regardless of the weather, Americans deserve a memorable celebration for this historical milestone.
“For 250 years, we’ve shown resilience and determination. A little rain won’t diminish our pride or our patriotism,” he added.
This news was shared shortly after the president posted on Truth Social at 9:05 p.m., mentioning the storm was clearing and indicating he would soon head to the mall.
“Storms, they often bring good luck. It’s what makes nights like this more thrilling! Honestly, whether it’s 2 a.m. or later, they always pass. I’ll be there, rain or shine. Remember the UFC event a few weeks ago? Everyone expected a torrential downpour, but not a drop fell, and it turned out to be epic. Our veterans have faced tremendous challenges, yet they persist. So why should we let a bit of rain hold us back? I’ll be leaving the White House shortly. God bless America!”
A White House official had earlier informed NewsNation’s correspondent that President Trump will deliver a noteworthy address reflecting on our nation’s journey over the past 250 years, focusing on stories from American heroes. This speech is anticipated to be distinct from any he has given before.
