A Colorado mother accused of killing two young children and injuring a third was arrested in England on Saturday, according to Colorado Springs police.
Authorities have not released further details about the overseas arrest of 35-year-old Kimberly Singler, but said they are cooperating with multiple law enforcement agencies, The Associated Press report.
Police received a report of a robbery at Singler's home on December 19th, and found the bodies of Singler with minor injuries, his 11-year-old daughter, her 9-year-old daughter, and her 7-year-old daughter. discovered. -Eldest son.
Police said the robbery report turned out to be unfounded and that Singler, who had initially cooperated with police, went missing during the investigation.
“Authorities were unable to arrest her on Tuesday after obtaining a warrant for her arrest on charges including murder and attempted murder,” the report states.
Singler was not under surveillance and was last seen in Colorado Springs on Dec. 23, Colorado Springs Police Department spokeswoman Ira Cronin said.
The injured 11-year-old girl was hospitalized for several days and is recovering in Colorado Springs, Cronin added.
“The children's deaths occurred during an ongoing legal battle between Singler and her ex-husband over parenting time and other issues,” the report said, citing court filings. .
Singler was arrested by the National Crime Agency in Kensington, west London, on December 30 and appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court on New Year's Day to face extradition to the United States.
She is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of attempted murder, three counts of child abuse and one count of assault.
