THIS lesson from the 1970s rings true TODAY

There is no doubt that 2023 will be a chaotic year, and for those born after the 70s, it will be the most chaotic year ever.

But Glenn Beck remembers the '70s, and their own struggles weren't all that different from today's trials and tribulations: economic turmoil, despair, an energy crisis, rampant crime.

Not only that, but distrust of America is also increasing.

“People were desperate and disillusioned. They stopped believing in America. They stopped believing that things would get better,” Glenn said, adding that in 1978 he and many others pointed out that he heard something that inspired him.

And he believes that's still true.

It was Aaron Copland's “Portrait of Lincoln,” featuring Henry Fonda, and Glenn adapted the work for today's turbulent times.

“Aaron Copland, one of America's greatest composers, performed with Henry Fonda just to remind Americans of who they were and where they came from,” Glenn said, adding “Henry Fonda got on stage and spoke. He talked about the Dark Ages and the hope of Abraham Lincoln.”

Glenn embellishes the piece with a quote from Ronald Reagan: The darkness of oppression. Our nation, a beacon of hope, is resilient against bullies around the world. We inherit not only a land, but a legacy of freedom that must be defended with unwavering courage. ”

“We will not be afraid in the face of evil. Our unity is our strength, and in that strength lies our power to shape a world that cherishes freedom and justice. Our Destiny is not predetermined, but can only be created by our own hands, hearts and unyielding spirit,” he continues.

Glenn ends the song on a positive note.

“We will find the strength to build a world where freedom, justice, and hope flourish for all,” he wrote.
