GOP rep: Anderson Cooper’s NYE shots show decline of CNN, America

Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Florida) said CNN anchor Anderson Cooper taking shots live during the network's coverage of New Year's Eve celebrations around the world was a sign of America's decline. He said it was proof.

“Nothing could be better under Joe Biden's America,” the Republican said in an appearance on Fox Business Network. “Hey, even Anderson Cooper is filming on live TV. And I think that says a lot about CNN ratings and what's going on in America today.”

The remarks came after the Florida congressman was asked about Ryan Seacrest's interview with President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.

“It's disgusting because this is clearly an example of a White House that is tone-deaf on so many issues. They have ignored everyday Americans,” she said.

For the past few years, Cooper and co-host Andy Cohen have been ringing in the New Year on CNN as part of their coverage of global celebrations. The two occasionally show off shots during the hours-long broadcast and are known for their comedic banter with guests and each other.
