After all, throwing drinks at paying customers is frowned upon.
Panthers owner David Tepper made headlines last weekend for throwing a drink at a fan during the Jacksonville Jaguars' 26-0 crushing of Tepper's Panthers.

Many speculated that the league needed to penalize Tepper so people wouldn't believe the league was okay with owners throwing things at paying fans. On Tuesday, the league took action and fined Tepper $300,000 for the display.
“All NFL employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is respectful of fans and fans at all times.” “This reflects favorably on our team and the NFL,” the NFL said in a statement.

Although Tepper did not explicitly apologize for his actions, he issued a statement expressing “regret” for his actions.
“I have deep passion for this team and regret my actions Sunday,” Tepper said. “The matter that arose should have been left to NFL stadium security. I respect the NFL's Code of Conduct and accept the league's discipline for my actions.”
The Panthers, 2-14, end a very disappointing season Sunday at home against the Buccaneers.
