Court unseals names in Ghislaine Maxwell lawsuit

Nearly 200 names previously redacted from court documents in the case against Jeffrey Epstein's ex-girlfriend and accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell have been released by order of a federal judge in New York.

U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska ordered their release in December, but gave Jane and John two weeks if they wanted to appeal.

The names were included in the document without any prior redactions to hide big names such as former Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, Mr. Clinton's longtime estranged aide Doug Band, Prince Andrew, and French modeling agent Jean. It was revealed in a series of 40 documents published. Luc Brunel and former New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, who also died while awaiting trial, like Epstein.

Epstein had many prominent connections, including former U.S. presidents, foreign prime ministers, and Britain's Prince Andrew, as well as Hollywood stars, leading academics, models and fashion industry figures, and other celebrities. Some of the names were previously known through other means, even though they were hidden from public view by the lawsuit.

Many of the names belong to people who have not been accused of wrongdoing, including Mr. Clinton, who declined to ask the court to suppress his name.

Other names released Wednesday included billionaire Glenn Dubin and his former personal chef Rinaldo Rizzo. According to previously released documents, Rizzo said Epstein and Maxwell once visited Dubin's home with a disoriented 15-year-old Swedish girl, where the couple asked for sex and took her passport. It was revealed that he had claimed that he had been told that he had been arrested. Also mentioned are Tony Figueroa, Limited Brands founder and former Victoria's Secret CEO Lex Wexner, and Epstein accusers including Johanna Sjoberg and Annie Farmer. .

A new name to watch is David Copperfield. He himself has been accused of sexually assaulting a teenage model and is listed in documents as a friend of Epstein's.

According to a deposition in the lawsuit, Sjöberg said Epstein once told her, “Clinton refers to girls and likes young people,'' and that Copperfield, a friend of Epstein's, “did magic tricks'' with her over dinner. “I did,” he claimed.

Sjoberg also brought up Trump, claiming that Epstein once called the billionaire businessman when his helicopter failed to land in New York and had to be rerouted to Atlantic City. He claimed that there is. She also said she never gave massages to Trump, director George Lucas or prominent computer scientist Marvin Minsky, who died in 2016.

In a typo-riddled email from Epstein to Maxwell, the sex trafficker accused Giuffre of fabricating the charges against him and made comments about “Stephen Hawking” and “orgies of minors.” Mentioned. Another email in the same document showed a Maxwell spokesperson bragging about “useful leaks” with links to articles in the Daily Mail and Daily News.

Several names were withheld for various reasons, including the names of Epstein's underage victims and at least one person who the judge said was incorrectly identified.

Dubin and Epstein's former wife, Eva Anderson Dubin, have previously denied knowing anything about the late financier's activities.

All of these names were previously redacted in a lawsuit filed by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre against Maxwell, which revealed that before her 18th birthday, she traveled to Little St., a private island in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She claims James trafficked her. The parties reached an out-of-court settlement in 2017. She also filed a lawsuit and received a settlement from Prince Andrew.

In a separate criminal case, Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sex trafficking of Epstein's victims.

The disclosure comes amid a fight in Congress to release the names of Epstein's clients and those who traveled on his private jet. Tennessee Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn and Rep. Tim Burchett accused Democrats of “blocking” their requests for these documents.

Federal court opens dozens of Ghislaine Maxwell files in sex trafficking case

In late December, Blackburn wrote to . “I will not stop working to uncover their identities. The American people have a right to know every name on that list.”

While Giuffre praised the members of Congress' involvement in Mr. X himself, he also ridiculed some of Epstein's previously anonymous associates.
