South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem traveled to Iowa to support former President Donald Trump on Wednesday after saying it would be a “mistake” to choose Nikki Haley as his running mate.
Noem, who endorsed Trump for president in September, traveled to Sioux City, Iowa, on Wednesday night to tell potential voters in the Jan. 15 caucuses that Trump is the best choice for the Republican Party.
“I've known this guy for years,” Noem said on stage, according to KTIV, adding, “We worked together on tax cuts when he was in the White House, and we worked together on policy and trade. “We worked together on the Accord. I served in the military.” “I worked on foreign policy with him on the committee. He helped me build the economy in South Dakota.”
Noem targeted Haley, who served as governor of South Carolina in the Trump administration and then as ambassador to the United Nations, saying, “She said she would never run for president against President Trump, but now… I'm running for office,” he said.
