Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott slammed Democratic city and state leaders who are struggling to admit migrants from the southern border and accused sanctuary cities of hypocrisy.
“This whole episode has made something clear, and that's the very real hostility that Democrats have toward illegal immigration,” Abbott told “America's Newsroom” on Thursday.
“They profess to be a sanctuary city or a sanctuary state. They want to be welcoming until they actually come in. And when they come in, we say no, no, no, no, no. “We don't want them here. Abbott continued to hold President Biden and the repeal of Trump-era policies that “led to the lowest levels of illegal border crossings in 40 years” to be directly responsible for the border crisis.
