Jessica Klepser, wife of the late actor Christian Oliver, broke her silence this week following the tragic deaths of her husband and their two young daughters.
The 51-year-old actor, who starred in “Hunters” and “Speed Racer,” died Thursday when the small plane they were traveling in crashed into the ocean off the coast of a Caribbean island.
Oliver, whose real name is Christian Klepser, was with his daughters Madita, 12, and Annick, 10, when he and pilot Robert Sachs died.
On Friday, Jessica Klepser and her family released the following emotional statement: shared on Instagram Page by Amy Jordan, owner of Wundabar Pilates.
Jessica is a regional manager for the company's California office.
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic plane crash that took place on January 4, 2024, which claimed the lives of our beloved family members,” the statement begins. “Our daughters Madita (12) and Annick (10), along with their father Christian, have just returned from a holiday in the Caribbean. Unfortunately, all four passengers on board the small plane did not survive. did.”
The Baby-Sitters Club graduates and their children were being flown from Bequia Island to St. Lucia when the single-engine plane “experienced difficulties and crashed into the sea.”
The tragic moment was then captured on cell phone video as the plane quickly sank into the sea.
Ms. Cresper's statement noted how beloved Oliver and her daughters were by their family, friends and community members.
“Madita was a vibrant 7th grader at Louis Armstrong Middle School, known for her active spirit and excelled in academics, dancing, singing, and performing,” the post reads. “Annick, her fourth grade student at Wonderland Avenue Elementary School, was recognized for her gentle yet strong demeanor.”
“She was always the first to say a kind word or give a comforting hug. Her passions included basketball, swimming, and various forms of art,” the post continued. .
“The deep bond, contagious laughter and sense of adventure that Madita and Annick shared will be greatly missed by their community,” said their devoted mother, Jessica Klepser of Los Angeles. The girls are survived by their grandparents, several uncles, aunts and cousins in Germany.
The post added that Oliver's loss “will be felt deeply by all who knew him” and asked for privacy at this difficult time.
Divers and other bystanders attempted to rescue Oliver, his two daughters, and the pilot, but they were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Coast Guard recovered the body from debris in 70 feet of water.
