Texas Tech guard Pop Isaacs is accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl during a team trip to the Bahamas, according to reports.
A civil lawsuit filed in Lubbock County District Court by the girl and her family alleges Isaacs took advantage of the girl, who was intoxicated at the time.
The girl was reportedly 17 years old, but she cannot claim statutory rape because the incident allegedly took place in the Bahamas, where the age of sexual consent is 16.

The suit also alleges that the team's boosters paid for alcohol that was served in the room where the alleged assault occurred.
On November 25, 2023, when the incident allegedly occurred, the Red Raiders were in the Bahamas to compete in Battle 4 Atlantis on Paradise Island.
The filing also alleges that Isaacs took the girl to another room where he tried to woo her. She probably tried to fight him off, but she was too drunk to be effective.
The girl's parents said they alerted Texas Tech coach Grant McCasland about the incident on Dec. 14, and McCasland then reported the incident to athletic director Kirby Hocutt. The team then reported the allegations to her Title IX office at the school.

Texas Tech University said it would “continue the process until completion, regardless of civil litigation.”
“Athletics has contacted the Title IX office twice, and both times based on that information, Pop Isaacs remains in good standing and there is no reason to withhold him from university activities, including competitive basketball. “We were informed that no,” the school said. In a statement.

Isaacs played in all 13 games this season, averaging 15.8 points and 3.4 assists per game. The team has an 11-3 record so far this season.
