Islamic Calif. High School Cancels Girls Basketball Game to Avoid Playing Team with Transgender Player

An Islamic high school in California canceled its Jan. 4 girls basketball game instead of playing against another school that had a transgender player on its team, witnesses said.

Fremont-based Averroes High School, which bills itself as an Islamic high school, withdrew from a girls basketball game against San Francisco Waldorf High School, according to reports. Averroes officials did not reveal the reason for the cancellation, but a source said: Said Reduxx claimed the game was stopped because Waldorf had a boy playing for them who said he was a transgender girl.

Reduxx did not reveal the transgender player's name, but the site investigated the matter and found that the boy is taller and faster than the female players on the team and appears to be listed on the team's roster. He claims to have even been found to have retained the man's name.

Reduxx also spoke with Julie Lane, president of the advocacy group. women are realand she attended a Waldorf women's basketball game in person and witnessed firsthand how transgender players dominated their opponents.

“The boy clearly had an advantage,” Lane said. “[The girls] They didn't necessarily carry out the attack through him, probably because they didn't want to be targeted. However, he was able to get the most rebounds and jump much higher than the female players. ”

Lane went on to say that the girls she competed against were at a “complete disadvantage.”

“He fought for the ball with another player and his heart stopped. She was over a foot shorter than him and could have been seriously injured,” she said.

Unsurprisingly, the Waldorf girls basketball team has gone undefeated since the boy's arrival.

In fact, it seems likely that the Averroes vs. Waldorf match was canceled because of Women Are Real. Redax said Lane and her group contacted the Islamic school, where she informed them they were about to be confronted by a man who identified himself as a girl. Shortly after, the school withdrew from the game against Steiner.

Averroes has not made an official statement as to why he withdrew from the competition, and it appears to be to avoid punishment by state education authorities.

But with Women Are Real, it feels clear why. The Averroes girls did not want to play against the boys.

“The school has not made an official announcement, so we cannot say exactly why the game was canceled. However, the multiple reasons we have heard from various sources do not make sense.” said Jean Burns, spokeswoman for Women Are Real. “We heard from the school principal that they didn't have enough players to field a team, but two days later they had enough players and the game was played. The coach was sick, but the game was canceled the same night.'' I heard from others that he was able to coach a men's team. All this mystery and secrecy leads me to believe that the real reason for the cancellation most likely involves a male athlete. Masu.”
