Prince Andrew faces ‘unprecedented’ pressure as there’s ‘not much’ King Charles can do after Epstein documents dump: expert

Prince Andrew appears to be treading uncharted waters after being named in Jeffrey Epstein's latest document dump, but it appears there is “not much” his brother King Charles can do about it.

The royal family is currently under “unprecedented” pressure and it was a “mistake” for the King to invite the disgraced Duke of York to Sandringham for Christmas, according to one royal commentator.

Royal expert and commentator Charles Ley said: “Just six days into the campaign, the pressure on Prince Andrew and the royal family has increased to almost unprecedented levels.” told GB News.

“We have a king who is under huge pressure to do something about Andrew. There's not much he can do. He's been stripped of his HRH and is not allowed to use it. I haven’t.”

“He can't represent these charities or military missions. He's sitting in nearly 30 rooms, almost like a palace,” Ray added.

Mr Ray then said Andrew could soon be “forced out” of the Royal Lodge and his brother's private security funds taken away.

“King Charles has already told us he can continue to pay for the upkeep of this place,” he said, adding: “There is also the possibility that the king may stop paying for Andrew's private security, which totals $3.8 million a year.” added.

The disgraced Duke of York has lived in the royal residence on the grounds of Windsor Castle since 2004, after signing a 75-year lease the previous year.

Royal Lodge remained the property of the Queen until her death in 2002. Andrew currently shares his 31-room Royal Lodge mansion in Windsor with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.

Andrew's name and the names of more than 200 others appeared in court documents containing serious accusations of inappropriate touching by the British royal family.

The two men later settled a defamation lawsuit brought by Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre against the late Sicco madam Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015.

According to unsealed documents, alleged Epstein victim Johanna Sjoberg was sitting on Andrew's lap in the financier's Manhattan townhouse in 2001 when Andrew put his hand on her chest. It was revealed in a deposition in 2016 that he had guessed that.

She also posed for a photo alongside Giuffre, whose breasts were groped using Andrew's puppet, Shoberg testified.

“They put the doll on Virginia's lap, I sat on Andrew's lap, they put the doll's hand on Virginia's chest, Andrew put his hand on mine, and we took a picture. ” she said of Maxwell and Epstein.
