Woman bites and chews through seat of police cruiser after arrest in North Carolina

A woman arrested on suspicion of assault in North Carolina became so enraged that she bit the back seat of a police cruiser.

The bizarre incident involving a 32-year-old woman occurred on Jan. 2 after she was arrested on suspicion of assault, according to the Boone Police Department.

The photos of the seats are First shared on Facebookthe Boone Police Department detailed the incident, writing, “When he was arrested, he became so angry that in a moment he decided to bite the sheets.”

“You may need to invest in Kevlar seat covers…wow,” the department added in a Jan. 4 post. “Yes. That happened.”

A Boone police sergeant told the Charlotte Warden about the strange incident. Dennis O'Neill said the woman's decision to chew through a “significant amount of padding” on the seat caused about $650 worth of damage to the vehicle.

Once the woman was restrained, she began to become violent, biting everything she could reach with her teeth, authorities said.

Mr O'Neill said: “It's an unfortunate situation. Now that everything has settled down, I think she regrets putting herself in the back of the police car.”

The damage to the seat was discovered after the woman was taken into custody, and police are considering whether to file additional charges against her in connection with the damage, the Observer reported.

Several social media users responded to the department's social media post, joking about the problem in Boone, about two hours northwest of Charlotte.

One user replied: “If you're hungry, eat a Snickers.”

Another user weighed in on the incident, commenting, “If they knew what the other people over there did, they wouldn't say anything.”
