Denver (KDVR) — Rep. Lauren Boebert's ex-husband was arrested earlier this week on several misdemeanor charges in two separate incidents, according to documents obtained by Nexstar's KDVR.
Jason Boebert, 43, was arrested by the Garfield County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, according to court records. Reports said he was released the same day. prison records.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by KDVR, Jason Boebert is being held on suspicion of prohibited use of a firearm, harassment, and third-degree assault, all misdemeanors. The charges stem from an altercation at Jason's home on January 9th involving a family member other than Lauren.
A second arrest warrant was issued for Boebert on Saturday after law enforcement was called to Miner's Claim Restaurant in Silt, Colorado. The incident that allegedly happened between him and Lauren.
According to a Garfield County arrest warrant issued Tuesday and obtained by KDVR, Jason is wanted on charges of disorderly conduct by offensive gesture and trespassing, all misdemeanors, as well as assault on a security guard. A misdemeanor charge of obstruction was also committed.
It's unclear what happened during the altercation, but Lauren said in a statement, in part, “I did not punch Jason in the face and no one was arrested.”
Silt Police Chief Mike Kite told Association Press that the investigation into Saturday's incident is still ongoing, but he expects it to conclude soon.
Boebert, a Republican who represented western Colorado for two terms in the House of Representatives, announced on December 27th: Switching House Districts This year, he is running for a seat representing the eastern part of the state.
