In a statement from Seahawks owner Jody Allen, Seattle said Carroll will remain with the team as an advisor, but the head coaching position is open.
There is an argument that Carroll is the greatest coach in Seattle Seahawks history. He was the leader in regular season and playoff wins and led the Seahawks to two Super Bowl appearances and one win in 2013.
