An 18-year-old Missouri man is accused of shooting another man 15 times, then rolling up his body and hiding it inside an air mattress wrapped in electrical cord, according to court documents.
Jackson Pierce, 18, and a juvenile suspect were taken into custody without incident Monday at a residence in the 300 block of Willott Square Drive in St. Peters, Missouri. The body of Dalton Coleman, 23, was discovered there. Peters Police Department said.
Police were called to the home after a witness' lawyer contacted authorities about a possible murder.
Coleman's body was found in a bedroom closet wrapped in a rolled-up air mattress, a white plastic garbage bag secured around her head and an electrical cord cut from a nearby lamp, according to the probable cause statement. Ta.

Police said an initial investigation determined that Pierce and Coleman were acquaintances and that the murder occurred after an argument inside the home.
According to the probable cause affidavit, a witness told police that he received a call from Pierce saying Coleman was at the residence, asking for “unknown items” and exhibiting “unusual behavior.” Witnesses said they tried to de-escalate the situation by speaking to both Pierce and Coleman and asking Pierce to move valuables, including firearms, into the room.
Witnesses said Pierce called again a few minutes later and told them he had shot Coleman.

According to witnesses, Pierce claimed Coleman forced his way into the bedroom where Pierce and the boy tried to distance themselves from Coleman. Pierce said Coleman tried to hit him and a struggle ensued over the firearm.
Witnesses told police Pierce shot Coleman 14 times. A subsequent autopsy revealed that the victim had sustained approximately 15 gunshot wounds.

A witness encouraged Pierce to call police, but Pierce testified that he refused.

Pierce was charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action and tampering with physical evidence. He was transported to the St. Charles County Jail and will be held on a $1 million cash-only bond.
The juvenile suspect was transported to St. Charles County Family Court on undisclosed charges and will remain in that court's custody.
