The actress, who also serves as an executive on Great American Family, says the network's films are different from those on other channels because they aren't shy about celebrating faith and country.
Candice Cameron Bure, Chief Content Officer great american familytold Christian Headlines that he is “excited” about the network's growth in 2023. At the time, the channel was the fastest growing channel for 12 consecutive months, and he is excited about its future. Great American Family was launched in 2021 as a rival to his Hallmark channel.
“Our network is focused on faith, family and country. And that's what sets us apart,” Bure told Christian Headlines. “So you'll find that it's not every movie that we've ever talked about faith in very prominently, but there are some references to faith. And every other aspect of Christmas and commercial Unlike many other films that always focus on aspects, ours definitely includes that – before we talk about mealtimes or Christmas, we bring you back to prayer. [the fact] Jesus is the reason for this season. ”
The Great American Family “wants to incorporate faith into all of our films without banging people over the head,” she said.
“We know that many of the people who come to our channel and watch our films come from different faiths, or even no faith at all, but we want to make sure that the content is a little bit different. But I hope you can feel it, even just a little bit.For us, faith in God means something on the network and in the movies.”
The network embraces patriotism, she added.
“We love our country,” she said, adding that the 2023 holiday movie my christmas herowhich put the military in the spotlight.
“I'm so grateful to have produced and starred in that movie,” she said. “…And, again, that’s what our network is all about: being proud Americans.
“So that's how our network got its name: Great American Family,” she added with a laugh.
This month is the Great American Family announced The network's first original series, county rescue, spotlights a group of paramedics. It will premiere on Great American Pure Flix on February 16th and on Great American Family on February 17th. Great American Pure Flix is the network's streaming service.
Great American Family said the mystery series will launch in the coming weeks. Plus, two new original series — destination haven and Shadrack — will be released this year on Great American Pure Flix. season 2 of the original series going home It premiered on Great American Pure Flix on January 5th.
Meanwhile, Great American Media said in an announcement that it will “produce a record number of original movies across its services in 2024.”
Last year, the network lined up 20 new original films for its Great American Christmas event.
“We're so excited for everyone who tuned in and found our channel,” Bure said. “…It's hard to get people to find a new channel, subscribe, and get on the train to support it. So we're really grateful to everyone who found us. I think our content is why we’re growing so quickly.”
“Our film is very heartwarming,” she added. “They're family-friendly and take you back to a time and place, thinking about memories with loved ones, both present and past. It just changes your mood.”
