How are people reacting?
Commenter WTXF-TV Story Published on Yahoo News I was never satisfied with this situation. Below is a sample of over 1,200 (and growing) observations.
- One commenter wrote, “Even if they were identified, located, and 20 witnesses came forward, the city still wouldn't prosecute them. They'd probably stick with the pedestrian crossing.” “Crime is the rule. Good citizens are thrown under the bus.”
- Another commenter said, “The only way to reduce crime is to increase punishment.'' “This can deter some people and keep people who commit crimes off the streets longer. It's a win-win.”
- Another commenter quipped: “Seems like a responsible and rational way for a moral, thinking, reflective, intelligent human being to act.”
- “If you lived in that neighborhood, would you come forward and identify one of them?” another commenter wondered. “The police don't want to go there either.”
