Man found dead on roof of luxury NYC apartment building: cops

A man was found dead on the roof of a luxury Hell's Kitchen apartment building Thursday, authorities said.

Police said the man, initially believed to be in his 30s, was found unconscious and unresponsive on the roof of a 38-story residential building on West 57th Street, near 11th Street, a short walk from Pier 97 in Hudson River Park. It was discovered in the missing condition.

The man, who was not immediately identified until his family was notified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The circumstances of his death remained under investigation several hours later.

Apartments in the high-rise building known as Helena 57 West are available with rents ranging from $3,400 to $6,680. According to online listing.

The building was designed by the award-winning Fox & Faul firm and is New York's first voluntary Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certified residential building, according to the company's website. .
