The Giants have their first known candidate to lead the defense post-Wink Martindale.
They recently met with Ravens secondary coach Denard Wilson for the defensive coordinator opening, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh announced Friday.
Wilson is in his first year with a team that received a first-round bye after finishing as the AFC's No. 1 seed and has previously coached with the Eagles, Jets and Rams.
The Ravens gave up the sixth-fewest passing yards and third-fewest passing touchdowns in the NFL this regular season, and had the third-most interceptions (18).
Wilson helped develop Kyle Hamilton, who was named first-team All-Pro safety Friday, into one of the league's best players at his position.
The Giants also plan to interview Titans defensive coordinator Shane Bowen for the role, the Post confirmed.
He recently completed his third season as the Titans' defensive coordinator, while Tennessee recently fired head coach Mike Vrabel.
This is the only known change to the Giants' defensive coordinator since head coach Brian Daboll and Wink Martindale had a bitter falling out that resulted in Martindale and the Giants parting ways with each other. This will be the first interview.
The Giants will not have to pay Martindale the $3 million he was owed, and Martindale will be free to be hired by another team as part of the deal.
The Post confirmed that the Giants requested permission to interview Chris Tabor, the Panthers' interim head coach and special teams coordinator, in preparation for taking over as special teams coordinator following the firing of Thomas McGaughey, the Post confirmed.
This is the third Giants to be blocked from interviewing for a special teams coordinator position, including Chargers special teams coach Ryan Ficken and Falcons special teams coordinator Maurice Williams.
Dexter Lawrence was named second-team All-Pro on Friday, becoming the only Giants player to be named to the All-Pro team.
Lawrence has been selected as a Pro Bowler before.
Lawrence was named both a second-team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler for the second consecutive year.
Lawrence dominated in the first year of a four-year, $87.5 million contract extension he signed last offseason, despite battling a hamstring injury late in the season.
He recorded 4.5 sacks, 53 total tackles and seven tackles for loss, according to Pro Football Reference.
He was also Pro Football Focus' highest-rated interior defensive lineman with an overall rating of 93.0.
Inside linebacker Bobby Okereke was likely snubbed after signing a four-year, $40 million contract with the team last offseason and having a strong first season with the team.
He recorded 149 total tackles, 2.5 sacks, 11 lost tackles, four forced fumbles, and had 10 passes defensed and two interceptions in coverage.
A lawsuit could also be filed over the safety of soon-to-be free agent Xavier Michinyi.
He had three interceptions, two of which came in the Giants' Week 18 win over the Eagles, and had 11 passes defended and 116 total tackles.
