Asked after Wednesday night's CNN debate who he predicted would win the 2024 presidential election, Republican pollster Frank Luntz said he would “bet” former President Donald Trump.
CBS News reporter Asked After the debate, Lantz asked, “If you had to bet $150,000 on who would win in November, who would you bet on?”
“I never thought I'd say this, but I'm betting on Trump. I never thought it was over. I thought it was over,” he said.
“He's not coming back from impeachment, he's not coming back from January 6th, he's not coming back from this incident, but he's back,” he added. “I'm going to give Trump the advantage at this point because this guy is a survivor and his opponent is having a very difficult time.
When Breitbart News contacted Mr. Luntz after the CNN debate to confirm that this had happened, Mr. Luntz said that if Mr. Trump performs poorly in the Iowa caucuses, it will affect the entire campaign. He tried to retract what he had said two days earlier, saying there was a possibility that the relationship could be turned upside down.
“I don't put much stock in it. If President Trump does poorly, everything could change on Monday,” he wrote in a text message.
But all signs point to Mr. Trump moving into Iowa from a position of tremendous power. Currently he is average The RealClearPolling average had Iowa's approval rating at 53% as of Friday afternoon. He leads his closest rival, former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-South Carolina), by 17.8% by 35.2 percentage points.
In December, Luntz announced that the state Supreme Court's 4-3 ruling removed Trump from Colorado's ballots, pending an eventual U.S. Supreme Court decision, but polls I predicted that this would only boost Trump.
What impact will the Colorado Supreme Court's decision against Trump have?
Same effect as his 91 indictments.

he explained “The more he gets indicted, the more accusations there are, and the more people rally around him, the more his numbers go up,” he told CNN's Pamela Brown in late December.
“It's now even more likely that Trump will beat Biden,” Luntz added.
