Trump Criticizes Omar and Somalia at Florida Rally

During a rally in The Villages, Florida, President Donald Trump took aim at Representative Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and her home country of Somalia, asserting that she came to America and “taught me how to run” the country.

At the event, Trump discussed his administration’s efforts to combat fraud, particularly focusing on protecting Medicare and Medicaid from criminals. He praised Vice President J.D. Vance for his leadership on the anti-fraud task force, mentioning that they have “launched a war on fraud” to address these issues.

“We’re fighting against criminals and thugs who are stealing from Medicare and Medicaid,” Trump stated. “You’ve probably read about it. We’re operating in places like Minnesota and California, and these scams have led to tremendous losses—hundreds, perhaps even thousands of people harmed in just one day. Vice President Vance is really doing an excellent job.”

Continuing his remarks, Trump highlighted concerns over alleged fraud involving Somali immigrants in several states. He remarked that there isn’t much more than crime in Somalia, describing it as “really strong” in that regard.

“They’re coming here, and so is Ilhan Omar,” he said. “Have you heard of her? She’s in charge. Just think about it. Somalia has crime, poverty, pollution—it’s really a mess. Some say it’s the worst country in the world. Sure, there are beautiful people, but overall, it’s tough. And she comes to our country to tell us how to run things.”

Trump expressed skepticism about Omar’s claims regarding her constitutional rights, pointing out that she is demanding those rights as a member of Congress.

In his February State of the Union address, Trump had announced the launch of a “war on fraud,” specifically referencing a situation in Minnesota where he alleged that individuals from the Somali community had taken approximately $19 billion from taxpayers.

“When you think about corruption in America, you can’t find a clearer example than in Minnesota,” he remarked. “The Somali community there has supposedly looted around $19 billion from American taxpayers, and the real numbers could be even higher. Other states like California, Massachusetts, and Maine face similar—or even worse—issues. This kind of corruption really threatens our nation’s integrity.”
