A 13-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the back of the head by his friend and died Saturday night in Miami Gardens, Florida, police said, according to WPLG Local 10 News.
Local police were called around 7:40 p.m., and officers responded and found the boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Exit report.

Detectives said the boy was playing video games with some friends in his bedroom when one of his friends grabbed a gun and accidentally shot him, the newspaper reported.
The victim was airlifted to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in a nearby city, where he was later pronounced dead, the paper said. (Related: Report: Police arrive, find three young children with gunshot wounds outside home, father arrested)
Authorities reportedly detained and questioned several people. Police say an adult was in the home at the time of the incident. CBS News. But as of Sunday afternoon, it remained unclear whether anyone had or would be charged in the boy's death.
According to Local 10, Miami Gardens Police Sergeant Emmanuel Jeanty said, “A lot of people have firearms these days,'' adding, “If you're going to put a firearm in your home, do you keep them locked up? It’s up to us.” And please keep it out of reach of children. ”
According to Local 10, Giunty said the Miami Gardens Police Department has released guns to local families to “keep firearms within reach of children because the safety of our children is our top priority.” It added that it is providing locks and other kits.
