House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) has told House Republicans that he will not accept any border security deal that comes out of the current talks between the Senate and the White House, according to a Republican lawmaker familiar with the talks. It was reported unofficially.
The congressman said Johnson's Republican conference held a conference call Sunday night in which Johnson stood by his position that the House would not support anything other than the GOP's Secure Borders Act (HR 2).
Fox News Digital reported that border security negotiations will be a major topic of discussion, with lawmakers debating how to pass conservative border policies.

Johnson's office released a memo last week pointing to 64 policy decisions by Biden and his officials that Republicans say have undermined border security over the past two years.
