Former President Trump took aim at his Republican rivals on Monday, hours before the first presidential campaign of 2024 begins in Iowa.
in post Trump used his “Truth Social” platform to attack other Republican candidates for lacking the “America First” values associated with his “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement.
President Trump attacked Republican candidate Nikki Haley, who often attracts moderate Republicans, as a “globalist RINO,” saying, “She can never win the general election because she doesn't have MAGA, and she never will! ” he said.
“Ron DeSanctimonious is at least a MAGA-Lite,” Trump added, using his usual nickname for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who has been trailing in recent polls.
Trump also claimed he was the only real candidate representing the MAGA movement.
“Remember, I think MAGA is just about everyone in the Republican Party. The days of RINOS and non-AMERICA FIRST candidates are over! Nikki is a globalist RINO and an American supporter of China's growth.” Backed by the Charles Koch scammer. It won't happen to her or Desinctimonius!
Trump concluded his post by calling his support for 2024 presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who has supported him the most out of all other candidates, a “waste.”
“Vivek's vote is wasted, you should vote for 'TRUMP'. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!” Trump said.
Haley's recent rise in approval ratings prompted Trump to shift his focus from DeSantis, a longtime target of the president's campaign's ire, to the former South Carolina governor.
But recent polls ahead of Monday's Iowa caucuses show Trump with a wide lead. Trump holds a 34.7 percentage point lead in the state with 53% of the vote, according to The Hill/Decision Desk polling average. Haley followed with 18.3%, followed by DeSantis in third place with 15.9% and Ramaswamy with 7.3%.
