Virginia man accused of stabbing dog while owner walked it; dog euthanized due to injuries: police

A Northern Virginia man was arrested Monday on suspicion of stabbing a dog that was eventually euthanized due to its wounds, police said.

The Falls Church Police Department said Rayanne Hassan Ibrahim, 25, of Broadlands, Virginia, was arrested by the Washington Metropolitan Airports Authority (MWAA) Police Department after she was stopped near Dulles Airport around 11 a.m. Monday. announced that he had been arrested.

Police said Ibrahim allegedly stabbed the dog, which was being walked by its owner, near the intersection of West Broad Street and South Maple Street around 9:15 p.m. Sunday.

As a result of the injuries, the dog had to be euthanized.

Police added that no one was injured in the incident.

Witnesses gave police the license plate of the vehicle in which the suspect fled the scene. After investigation, police determined that the license plate was registered to Ibrahim.

Ibrahim was scheduled to be transported to the Loudoun County Detention Center. The suspect was also turned over to the Falls City Church and will be charged with stabbing and euthanizing the dog.
