They hoped it would be there – and now it's finally here.

A late patron from Maryland finally returned his Pink Floyd CD to the Laurel Branch Library on Friday, January 12, decades after it was due.

A copy of the band's 1975 hit album “Wish You Were Here” wasn't even in the library's digital system when an employee found the physical copy.

The Prince George's County Memorial Library System announced the rare find on Instagram.

The CD was purchased by the library in 1989, and staff believe it was loaned out around that time.

“They must be happy that PGCMLS is now #FineFree,” the library jokingly wrote on its Instagram page, using the abbreviation for Prince George's County Memorial Library System.

Discoverer Ella Alonso works as a public service specialist at the Laurel Branch Library. She told Fox News Digital that she was surprised when she saw the British rock band's actual album.

“In fact, it's hard to tell from the CD when it was borrowed because the label is now outdated and the record of the item has long been removed from the system,” Alonso said.

“However, the checkout date shown is from 1989, which appears to be from around that time,” she added.

Alonso praised the customer for returning it, even if it was decades late.
