Heavy favorite emerges to replace Pete Carroll

Apparently scoring 48 points in an NFL playoff elimination game is enough to advance, as FanDuel Sportsbook suggests in the latest odds.

Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn (-240) is the overwhelming favorite to become head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, a position Pete Carroll held from 2010 to 2023.

It was no secret that Seattle wanted to bring Quinn in as a coach, and immediately set up a meeting with him after Dallas' season ended in shock.

Behind Quinn is Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson (+550), long considered a genius play-caller in Detroit and expected to be a hot candidate this offseason.

The Seahawks' interest in Quinn has long been expected, and it will be interesting to see how they pan out considering his performance in Sunday's final game of the season against the Packers.

The Packers exploded against Quinn's defense Sunday, with quarterback Jordan Love throwing just five completions on 21 passes, three touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Green Bay also showed its intent early by getting Aaron Jones heavily involved in the offense, gaining 118 yards and three touchdowns on 21 carries in a 48-32 win.

Quinn has had great success in the past as the defensive coordinator for the Seahawks' “Legion of Boom” in 2013.

Seattle won the Super Bowl that year, and Quinn then headed to Atlanta as head coach.

He was the Falcons' head coach during their 2016 Super Bowl game against the Patriots.

Quinn then moved on to the Cowboys as defensive coordinator and has had similar success to what he had with Seattle a few years ago.
