Even immigration policy has been messed with for this purpose. While talented, highly skilled workers cannot obtain visas to come to the United States, millions of undocumented immigrants, most of them unskilled, are here not for asylum but for economic opportunity. (ironically, the same opportunity is currently being offered to be killed) and illegally cross the border without recourse.

There are many responsibilities. Parents who enable mediocrity and overindulge their children are to blame. The school system is to blame. The responsibility lies with the government and the Fed. Companies have a responsibility. These beings are captured by progressive cultists who have various perverse reasons to further their agenda.

But neither the reason nor the responsibility matters. What matters is what we do now.

We have a real model of what happens when the pursuit of excellence is frustrated. It is a mediocre existence. But America cannot exist with mediocrity. The expected outcome would be much worse.
