Movie series come and go, but there's only one 007.
Sure, several actors have played James Bond over the years, but Hollywood's oldest series still has an impact on its culture.
But whether today's progressives have anything to say about it is another matter.
The left has had the Bond story in its sights for years. Attacks come from different directions, but they all have something in common. Bond has to change with modern times…on our terms.
Here lies the core of the truth. In Sean Connery's 007, the standard by which all Bond actors are compared, women were sometimes treated in ways that wouldn't be celebrated today.

The woke left takes pleasure in destroying the past, whether it's tearing down statues or shaming audiences who prefer old, “problematic” films like Gone with the Wind. Every time it's time for a Bond change, there are articles suggesting that Bond will escape his biographical origins. Something new, fresh, and dare I say it, awakening..
The latest Bond, Daniel Craig, has been quietly avoided. Character must remain male By suggesting that Hollywood write better roles for women and minorities. By comparison, former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan was completely woken up by: Support female 007.
“I think we've seen players perform over the last 40 years. Get out of the way, guys, put a woman out there. I think it's refreshing and I think it's exciting.”
This isn't the end of Bond's attacks on everything.
Last year, it was revealed that “Sensitive Readers” had censored Ian Fleming's 007 novels, diluting them. problematic for modern readers. That wasn't enough. The classic book also included a trigger warning that came with the new edition.

The modern left has seized control over much of modern culture. Comedians watch what they say. Public schools push pornography on young students, only to shout, “Banner to book!” Parents should notice. Don't even get me started on what's going on in academia and Tinseltown as a whole.
But the Broccoli family, which maintains tight control over the 007 film franchise, has largely ignored calls for change.
Sure, Craig's Bond has taken a monogamous path in recent films, but he still flexes his license to kill without a shrug. Craig's physicality, scarred but handsome face, and uncompromising dedication to his duty honored the Connery template.
The marketing push for Bond's last film, No Time to Die, turned out to be even more woke than the film itself.
Bond stories still have important connections to both on-screen masculinity and our common past. Both pose a threat to the left, which explains the persistent attacks on superspies.
The bond lasts, but for how long?
