Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) denounced the short-term spending bill passed Thursday to keep the government funded through March as a “Pelosi-esque” deal.
Just hours after the Senate approved the bill, the House approved a two-step continuing resolution (CR) by a vote of 314-108.
Boebert was one of the Republicans who opposed the bill. issued a statement On Thursday night, the newspaper attacked President Biden and Speaker Emeritus Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), calling the CR a “slap in the face” to the American people.
“Nancy Pelosi would be proud of this reckless and bloated spending bill that will keep federal spending at the level she set when she was Speaker,” Boebert's statement said.
Passage of the bill would extend federal funding deadlines to March 1 and March 8, giving Congress more time to complete the formal spending process. This is the third time since last July that Congress has passed a short-term spending bill, as lawmakers continue to disagree over how to fund the government.

Boebert, who was elected in 2020 and represents Colorado's 3rd Congressional District, said voters are having a hard time dealing with the effects of “Joe Biden and the swamp's inflationary spending.”
“I did not run for Congress to stand by and watch indifferent politicians continue to sell America out,” she said in a statement. “Rather than rein in the swamp and restore wasteful federal spending, CR is failing to make necessary cuts and defeating wasteful policies to prevent future generations from taking on mountains of debt.”
