Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday and charged with domestic violence.
The rapper was taken into custody on January 17, Reserved to a prison in Santo Domingo, according to CBS News.

6ix9ine's arrest this month is not the first time he has been arrested in the Dominican Republic. He was arrested last October on suspicion of assaulting a music producer at a Dominican studio where Yailin was recording at the time.
The rapper also has a long rap sheet across America. In 2018, he pleaded guilty to using a child in a sexual performance and was sentenced to four years' probation. And in 2019, he was charged with belonging to a violent gang, but avoided significant prison time after testifying against some of his gang associates. By 2020 he was released from house arrest.
Last year, he was forced to sell millions of dollars in personal belongings and liquidate assets to cover a $10 million judgment against a stripper who he claims hit her with a champagne bottle.
In March last year, she was attacked and severely assaulted by a group of men at a fitness facility in Los Angeles, Florida. Three men were subsequently arrested in connection with the incident.
