Republican presidential candidate Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) said Friday on Fox News Channel's “Your World” that President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party want a showdown with former President Donald Trump. Stated.
DeSantis asked, “What will November 2024 look like? How will Donald Trump get through everything he has to go through? Democrats are licking their chops. I realized that the Democrats want Trump to be their nominee, and I don't think it's a secret, because they have a playbook that they're going to deploy. We're going to do that right away. These polls are already starting to come in. There were so many polls that said Trump was going to beat Biden in the fall.”
He added, “We're starting to see that change now. And my guess is that if he certifies the nomination this spring, the media is going to see Biden holding a significant lead heading into the general election.” I don't think people need to worry about that. They're going to focus on their problems and hold Democrats accountable. . I think we have an advantage. When it comes to issues, we have an advantage. If it's a referendum on Trump, the Democrats have an advantage.”
