Trump dubs DeSantis one of the greatest ‘self-destructions I think I’ve ever witnessed’

Former President Trump spoke to supporters in New Hampshire on Friday, calling Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' (R) presidential campaign one of the “greatest self-destructions I think we've ever witnessed.”

“When I was in Iowa last week, I've been stopping at different places and giving speeches and doing all kinds of things, and each time…I said, 'I just, you know, I don't believe the polls. Please don’t do that.’ Because the result was over 40.’ I think it was about 50 points. I said, “You have to get out, because the margins matter, not for the people we're at odds with Nicki.” I don't even talk about dessanctus – What happened to him? ” President Trump said during a rally in Concord, using one of his own nicknames to mock DeSantis.

“No, the poll just came out. Desinctus is at 4 o'clock. What happened to this man? One of the greatest self-destructions I've ever witnessed,” he continued. .

Trump's comments come even as his campaign and super PACs are pouring most of their resources into the Hawkeye State, with DeSantis leading the former president by about 30 points in the Iowa Republican caucuses. This was just days after he saw his team win in a landslide.

DeSantis campaign officials confirmed to The Hill earlier this week that the majority of the Florida governor's campaign would be moving to South Carolina, with the Palmetto State seen as DeSantis' next best opportunity to take on Trump. ing. Still, polls show Trump leading both Haley and DeSantis in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

According to an average of New Hampshire polls compiled by Decision Desk HQ and The Hill, Trump leads Haley by 11 points at about 46% and 35%, respectively. Mr. DeSantis is at just 6%.

Meanwhile, South Carolina polls conducted by Decision Desk HQ and The Hill average around 54% for Trump, 25% for Haley and 9% for DeSantis.

In a conversation with supporters, President Trump claimed that former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley's “performing record is not very good,” adding that she is “very depressed.”

Ms. Haley faces the precipice of defeating Ms. Trump in New Hampshire, and some experts say she could face questions about her viability if she fails to capture the Granite State. It is said that it is expensive.
