The new year is just getting better for JJ McCarthy.
The quarterback led the University of Michigan to a national championship earlier this month, finishing the season 15-0 and giving the Wolverines their first title since 1997.
A few days later, he declared for the NFL Draft.

And now he's engaged.
Mr. McCarthy and his new fiancée, Katia Klopas, announced the news in a joint Instagram post late Friday night.
“Me, you, Marley, forever and ever.” The caption read:.
The couple shared nine photos of each other, including one of them with their dog Marley on the beach.
The comments were valuable and excited the quarterback.
One user wrote, “My brother got two rings in two weeks.”
“This guy JJ is on a winning streak unlike anything humanity has ever seen,” said another.
She added: “He really said this is my year.”

McCarthy wrote a message to the Maize and Blue faithful when he declared for the draft, and added a section to the future Mrs. McCarthy.
“You are my soulmate, my best friend, and my rock,” he said. “I am so happy to be your partner now and always. I am so excited to continue our journey together.”

University of Michigan teammate Blake Collum had high praise for him recently.
“JJ is just a great quarterback,” Colm told FOX News Digital. “I want to learn, I want to get better, and I won't stop until I do that. No matter what round he gets drafted, I think he's definitely a first-rounder, a great quarterback, and a great leader.”
“I think he’s going to have a very long career, maybe. tom brady, let's take a look. ”

McCarthy and Klopas shared a kiss after the Wolverines' 34-13 national championship win over the Washington Huskies. They have been dating since high school.
