Philadelphia police are investigating the abandonment of a 3-month-old baby girl suspected of shoplifting at a Walmart store Thursday.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department, on January 18th at approximately 11 p.m., officers were called to a report of a theft in progress at Walmart.

Store security personnel told responding officers that three shoplifting suspects, two men and a woman, fled the store, leaving the infant behind.

The infant was immediately taken by paramedics to a local hospital for evaluation.

Police told Fox News Digital that the infant is reported to be in good condition.

Philadelphia police have been investigating a case since Thursday, Jan. 18, after a suspected shoplifter left an infant unattended at a Walmart. (St. Petersburg)

Police added that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
