Ron DeSantis is no longer running for president.

DeSantis announced in a video on Twitter that he is suspending his presidential campaign.

NBC reported:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, once considered Donald Trump's toughest opponent in the Republican presidential primary, called off his campaign on Sunday and endorsed the former president.

The move comes two days before New Hampshire's primary.

DeSantis made the announcement in a video on social media platform X. X is the same social media platform on which he rigged his bid for the White House.

DeSantis has sought to position himself as an alternative to Trump, and a politically successful successor to the MAGA movement and its policy priorities without Trump's influence. However, in his efforts to win over Trump's supporters, DeSantis was slow to meaningfully criticize the former president and was unable to sufficiently separate himself from Trump's support. Mr. DeSantis' embrace of far-right policies has led moderate Republicans and independents to look elsewhere for candidates who will lead the party in a different direction than Mr. Trump.

He also supported Donald Trump.

Axios reported:

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday suspended his 2024 presidential campaign and endorsed Donald Trump just days before the New Hampshire primary, announcing his resignation in an X video.

Mr. DeSantis' announcement will provide a further boost to Mr. Trump ahead of the New Hampshire election, where he is aiming for a landslide victory over former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, effectively ending the Republican primary.
Mr. DeSantis actively campaigned in Iowa, where he came in second place, about 30 points behind Mr. Trump.
