Carrie Underwood Addresses Rumors of Tension with Nikki Glazer

Carrie Underwood has taken steps to clear the air about her rumored feud with comedian Nikki Glazer. This discussion emerged after a recent episode of American Idol themed around Taylor Swift, which featured Glazer as a guest judge. Viewers seemed to sense a bit of awkwardness between the two, prompting speculation.

Underwood, who has been a judge on the show since 2025, pushed back on these assumptions during a chat on The Highway with Cody Alan. She emphasized that she didn’t want any negativity to overshadow the moment.

Following the episode, Underwood shared a cheerful photo with Glazer on her Instagram, captioning it, “We had a fun night with the beautiful and hilarious Nikki Glazer joining us as a guest judge on American Idol.” However, fans quickly reacted, questioning the authenticity of her sentiments. Some noted that Underwood appeared less than enthusiastic about having Glazer beside her during the broadcast.

One fan remarked, “Carrie didn’t seem to enjoy having Nikki sitting next to her.” Another pointed out a moment when Underwood rolled her eyes after Glazer was about to speak, calling it overly noticeable.

Alan couldn’t help but cringe at the online discourse surrounding Underwood. He remarked on how some people seem eager to create controversy over trivial matters, to which Underwood responded, noting that she often feels this scrutiny. “When there are two women in the same room, I feel like someone is going to try something,” she said. She assured everyone that Glazer performed admirably as a judge during the episode, calling her contributions positive.

Underwood reiterated, “No, there’s no beef. There’s no beef.”

During the conversation, Alan also explored Underwood’s experiences as a past winner of American Idol, questioning if she still feels nervous stepping on stage. Underwood reflected on how the pressures of public scrutiny have changed over time. Back when she competed in 2005, she recalled, it was just the dawn of online criticism and negativity.

“Contenders today face far more than I did back then,” she said. “It’s a different world now. It’s so easy for anyone to comment online, and sometimes we forget these are real individuals doing their best.” She acknowledged that while she hopes one day they won’t care about the judgment, recognizing it still matters to them at present can be a challenge.
