Pawn Stars star Rick Harrison announced that his son Adam Harrison died of a fentanyl overdose.

Adam Harrison was only 39 years old.

“While the cartels' base of operations is Mexico, the DEA has identified more than 50 additional countries where these criminal networks operate,” a DEA press release states. The agency said the cartel buys chemicals from companies in China, “mixes the drugs in Mexico, and distributes the finished fentanyl widely throughout the United States.”
“Fentanyl is now the leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18 and 45. In calendar year 2023, the DEA seized more than 77 million fentanyl pills and nearly 12,000 pounds of fentanyl powder. This is the largest amount of fentanyl seized by the DEA in 2020. This is the equivalent of more than 386 million lethal doses of fentanyl, enough to kill all Americans.” stated in a press release.
Cheryl Ortiz, special agent in charge of the DEA's New Jersey Field Division, described the drug as “the greatest threat to our country,” according to a press release.
