The man who allegedly shot and killed seven people at two homes in Illinois turned the gun on himself and took his own life after a confrontation with police in Texas.
Romeo Nance, 23, was found by U.S. marshals near Natalia, Texas, near Natalia, Texas, on Monday at about 8:30 p.m., killing himself with a handgun, according to police in Joliet, Illinois. . This comes after a search was conducted for Nance after seven shooting victims were found early Monday.
Joliet police said in a news release that the victim's identity and manner of death will be confirmed by the Will County Coroner's Office. The investigation continues.
Joliet police responded to the West Coast shortly after noon Monday after receiving a report from the Will County Sheriff's Office that investigators found multiple bodies in two homes while investigating a homicide in their jurisdiction. -Dispatched to Acres Road.

Officers discovered evidence of a possible crime scene at a residence at 2212 West Acres Road and entered the residence, where they found five people deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Shortly afterward, officers located another possible crime scene at 2225 West Acres Road and upon entering the home found two people who also died from apparent gunshot wounds.
Joliet police were then called to the scene. Nance knew the victims and is believed to be a relative.

During the investigation, detectives quickly identified Nance as the suspect in the West Acres Road murder. He is also believed to be responsible for two other shootings on Sunday.
Just before 4:30 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to an apartment complex and found a man bleeding from the head with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim, later identified as 28-year-old Toyosi Bakare, succumbed to his injuries.
Bakare is originally from Nigeria and had lived in the United States for nearly three years.
Deputies say a 42-year-old man was shot in the leg about 10 minutes before the shooting and suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

According to court records, Nance Charged about 1 year ago after trying to shoot the woman multiple times. Police located the man near his home and arrested him after a brief struggle with officers. He was charged as part of Operation New Year's Resolutions and was released after posting $10,000 of a $100,000 bail.
