Lowe has found a new home, and it's not in Cable.
WWE announced Tuesday morning that its flagship show will be available on Netflix in January 2025.
According to multiple reports, the deal is for 10 years and worth more than $5 billion.
This is a new entry into the streaming space for the sports entertainment giant, which broadcasts pay-per-view events like the Royal Rumble and WrestleMania live on Peacock.
For Netflix, this is a big step into live sports entertainment. So far, I have only done a small amount of work in that area.
“We are excited to bring WWE Raw, which has a huge and passionate multi-generational fan base, to Netflix,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Bela Bajaria. he told Variety.
“By combining our reach, recommendations and fandom with WWE, we will be able to bring even more joy and value to WWE viewers and members. RAW is sports entertainment at its best, with great characters and We are thrilled to be in a long-term partnership with WWE as we blend storytelling and live action 52 weeks a year.”
“Raw” is currently airing in the United States.
