The Associated Press has called the New Hampshire primary for Donald Trump.
The Associated Press reported:
Donald Trump won New Hampshire's Republican primary, handing a setback to rival Nikki Haley, but time is running out to establish himself as the candidate to replace him.
This is his second consecutive victory as he aims to win the Republican presidential nomination in 2024. He won Iowa's leadoff caucuses by a 30 percentage point margin.
Meanwhile, President Joe Biden's allies are hoping their write-in campaign on the Democratic side will be successful.Statewide voting ended at 8 p.m.
Trump received significant support from Republican Sen. John Cornyn.
I've seen enough. To defeat Biden, the Republican Party will need to unite around a single candidate, and President Trump is clearly the choice of Republican voters. The Biden domestic policy failures, including the border crisis and record high inflation, and the foreign policy failures that have emboldened our adversaries and made the world a more dangerous place, must be stopped for another four years.
I am proud of President Trump's accomplishments in his first term, including the confirmation of 234 federal judges, including three members of the United States Supreme Court. Passed historic tax reform, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Release our latent energy. And it produced the best economy for all Americans in my lifetime.
I will continue to work to win a Republican Senate majority and elect President Trump in 2024.
Trump set a new record:
This is the first time a non-incumbent Republican has won both the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary. https://t.co/4GjcDFLwoy
