New Hampshire Primary a ‘Very Bad Night for Donald Trump’

MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell said Tuesday on the station's New Hampshire preliminary coverage that it was a “very bad” night for former President Donald Trump.

O'Donnell said, “One of the good frameworks to use when thinking about what Trump accomplished and what he didn't accomplish is what Joe Biden accomplished. Tonight is a different story. Dean Phillips ran against Joe Biden and finished second with 20% of the Democratic vote in the unofficial Democratic primary there.

Additionally, “Joe Biden will show tremendous strength in New Hampshire tonight. And Trump will show far greater weakness against a credible challenger. It depends on how you want to view Trump. No. He wants to be called President in court and everywhere, so let's just call him President for this moment. When the President gets on the ballot in the New Hampshire primary, he's going to win it all. You shouldn't face a serious challenger, and when you do, you lose. No president has ever faced serious difficulties in the New Hampshire primary and then won in November. , looking at the pattern of the president facing very serious challenges in the New Hampshire primary, this is going to be a very bad night for Donald Trump.”
