Former Trump Georgia prosecutor Nathan Wade, who is said to have had an affair with Fulton County District Attorney Fannie Willis, has given “inappropriate” answers about his alcohol, drug and drug use in new divorce documents. He was criticized by his wife's lawyer for doing so.

Wade has been embroiled in a controversial separation from his wife of 26 years, Joycelyn Wade, since filing for divorce in 2021. Wade filed for divorce a day after Willis appointed him special counsel to investigate Trump's election interference. Willis has recently come under fire for his alleged secret relationship with Wade.

But despite seeking an end to the marriage, Mr. Wade has repeatedly failed to answer basic questions and provide documents requested by his wife, and his wife's lawyer says in court papers that Mr. He claimed the information he provided was “woefully inadequate”. It's useless. “

Court documents from February 2023 were unsealed by a judge on Monday.

Mrs. Wade asked her estranged husband to provide information about the amount of alcohol he consumed, the brands of alcohol he drank, and whether he ever drove within an hour of drinking. According to court filings, the man replied, “Once a week, I drink red wine with dinner at his home.”

When asked whether he had used legal or illegal drugs, Mr. Wade said, “I have never used illegal drugs,'' but Mrs. Wade's lawyers said this answer was “not applicable to the use of legal or prescription drugs.'' It's not being addressed at all.”

Her lawyers said Wade disclosed that she took painkillers and antibiotics after her surgery in April 2020, but “did not know which drugs, how long they were prescribed, how much they were prescribed, who prescribed them, or whether they were taken as prescribed.” He did not say whether or not. ”

Wade is not accused of drug or alcohol abuse in court filings.

The prosecutor's wife first sought answers to questions about his drug and alcohol use and finances in November 2021 so they could negotiate a fair divorce settlement. But her lawyers say in court documents that Wade has repeatedly failed to cooperate, refusing to disclose basic information.

Mr. Wade was held in civil contempt in August for failing to comply with a judge's order to turn over discovery to his wife's attorney, according to court documents.

Lawyers filed another complaint in September alleging that he was avoiding producing financial records. He claimed he received more than $500,000 for cooperating with the Trump investigation without providing “a single document proving this income.”

Lawyers for his wife said Mr. Wade “deliberately obfuscated this civil case for his own purposes.” “Furthermore, while earning such a large amount of money, [Mr. Wade] offers almost nothing to [Mrs. Wade] We are grateful for her support and survival as her own bank account is often overdrafted. ”

Willis' wife's attorney served a subpoena to remove her from the divorce case amid allegations that Willis had an affair with the district attorney. But the judge on Monday held off on that deposition, at least until he hears from Mr. Wade, who also has not been deposed.

Superior Court Judge Henry Thompson also unsealed the divorce case on Monday, citing recent heightened interest in misconduct allegations against Mr. Wade and Mr. Willis.

Mr Thompson also ruled on Monday that Mrs Wade had the right to expose her husband's alleged affair.

Willis' lawyer said the divorce case was about the division of marital property and had “nothing to do with” Willis, and the extramarital affair allegations were irrelevant to the case, so they should divorce Willis. He argued in court that he should not be expelled.

But Mrs. Wade's lawyer told the judge on Monday: [Mr. Wade] Embezzling his money. I have reason to believe he is spending money on another woman and it is my client's money. ”
